As I was drifting off to sleep one night late in May, I had the inspiration for this track that morphed, evolved, and told a story. I could hear the whole thing pretty clearly in my head. It followed a life, starting out innocent and childlike, full of wonder, slowly being crushed and distorted by the harsh realities of the modern world. Eventually it became a churning unsettling drone of it’s former self as the beat took over it. As it became more and more relentless, suddenly a beam of sound came bursting through the chaos and the drone faded away, replaced by "love" in the form of lush waves of synth pads floating around.

Before I went to sleep I quickly wrote a rough note in my phone of the basic structure and idea of the song, and then spent the next month trying to recreate it.

To me this song represents the idea that the power of love can overcome everything and burst through even the most chaotic/monotonous/droning of existences.

I sampled my beautiful wife Rachel's voice to provide some stuttering moments of despair and some tranquil beauty in the outro.

Created w/ Ableton Live, Arturia Soft-synths, a Korg MS-20, & Output Plugins & Sounds.
